In a bizarre incident couple damages 13 cars in Gomtinagar

LUCKNOW: In a bizarre incident, a bike-borne couple allegedly smashed the windshields and window panes of 13 four-wheelers, including SUVs, parked in a lane in Vineet Khand-II of Gomtinagar in the wee hours on Saturday.

The locality is near the offices of IG Lucknow range and the Anti-Terrorist Squad. Some residents came out of the houses on hearing the noise and informed police.

RK Srivastava, a bank manager, was the first one to hear the noise. “A loud thud woke me around 4am. I rushed outside and saw a couple on a bike. A man was riding the bike, while a woman, who was riding pillion, was smashing the windscreens and window panes of cars parked in the colony.”

Srivastava shouted at the couple who were at some distance. The woman waved a sharp-object at me and threatened to attack me. Then they fled,” said the banker. Another resident, KB Sati, a government employee, said he saw a woman, clad in a green colour suit, breaking windshields, while a man was riding the bike. “The couple damaged 13 cars, including my SUV,” said Rohit Goel.
“Many vehicles, including personal cars of some government officials, were damaged, yet the police have not lodged our complaint,” said SK Tripathi, a government official.
Though residents alleged that the police did not file their complaint, Gomtinagar circle officer Deepak Kumar Singh said they had not yet received any complaint from the people.
