Mumbai: Heavy Monsoon showers created havoc in Mumbai city as it reaches to its extreme, here after a light drizzle on Saturday morning, heavy rain also water logging accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorm throughout the night that continued on Sunday morning.

 

 

Places like Thane, Ghatkopar, Dadar, Chembur, Kurla, Andheri, Borivali, Bandra and Colaba faced incessant rainfall, reports said.

 

 

Traffic came to a standstill in several areas owing to the downpour. Low lying areas of Kurla, Dadar, Thane, Sion faced water-logging which affected the traffic for several hours.

 

 

Those travelling by local trains on the Central railway line will face a mega block of 6 hours on Sunday between 9:10 am and 3:20 pm.

 

 

The power block will be on all six lines between Dombivili and Kalyan as the Central Railway plans to complete the construction of a road overbridge at Thakurli. Due to the power block, at least 120 trains in the CR are suspended.

 

 

Weather forecast for the city predicts thundershowers to intensify leading to some moderate and heavy rainfall during the next 48 hours. As a result, temperature may dip along with windy weather.
